MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University reopened today (Jan. 3) after a nine-day holiday and administrative break, with administrative and civil service personnel returning to work.
During the morning of Friday, Jan. 5, there is a planned outage of many of Western�s servers, mainframe (MVS), storage area network (SAN) and backup devises. MVS, STARS, web server, e-mail, WebCT Vista and server home directory access will be unavailable that morning. MVS and STARS should be restored by 10 a.m., with other serves restored by noon. Internet access will be available throughout the outage.
Students may move back to residence halls beginning at noon Sunday, Jan. 14.
The University will be closed Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and Spring 2007 classes will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16.
